Members don't have to buy a separate Legal Protection Plan - It's included in your dues and covers the following:

1. Member involved shooting;

2. In Custody death or life threatening injury;

3. Accident, while in the performance of duty, resulting in a life threatening injury or death to others;

4. Involuntary termination from employment;

5. Demotion;

6. Criminal charges or indictments arising out of the Member's official performance of duty;

7. Suspensions to the extent that the prevailing agency policy, procedures or rules provide for a formal administrative hearing;

8. Other disciplinary actions: AZCOPS grievance trained representative will assist members through internal agency process to ensure compliance with policy and procedure.

9. Civil actions arising out of the Member's official performance of duty if representation is not provided by employer.

Other important Benefits:

1. Workplace Grievance Training: Each association will have grievance representative who are familiar with member agency policies and procedures.

2. Political Representation: AZCOPS assists its members and affiliated chapters in how to become a strong political force in their community and State through political action committees and lobbying.

3. CWA PRIVILEGE PROGRAMS: Because AZCOPS is affiliated with the
   NCPSO/CWA, each member is entitled to specially discounted rates on such services as travel, savings plans, mortgages, credit cards, loans, life insurance and health services.
